This is the second year for the implementation of a new rotating schedule for the emphasis areas of the CKI Service Initiative – Focusing on the Future: Children.  CKI will concentrate on each area during various parts of the year.  Prior to last year, the emphasis area rotated every year.

After School Programs: Turn off TV, Turn onto Life is the emphasis area in the late summer/fall months. Clubs should look for projects that cater to kids after regular school hours.   

Literacy: Open a Book, Show Them the World is the emphasis area in the winter and spring months!  Clubs should look for projects that focus on literacy and improve children’s scholastic achievement. 

Health and Safety Issues: On Call for the Future is the emphasis area in the spring and summer months!  Clubs should look for projects that help children take care of themselves.
